  • Yes, perfectly safe. You are always led by a highly certified, Level-A Zambian guide who understands animal behavior and an armed DNPW (ZAWA) Scout. We maintain strict safety distances, walk in a single file, and never approach animals aggressively.

  • You only need a moderate fitness level. We walk at a slow, relaxed tracking pace for about 3 to 4 hours (around 8 to 12 km) in the cool morning. There is no heavy climbing, and we take plenty of regular breaks for water and snacks.

  • Not at all. You only carry a light daypack with your camera, sunscreen, and water bottle. Our camp porter team safely transfers your main bags ahead to the next bushcamp using our 4x4 safari vehicles.

  • Wear comfortable, broken-in walking shoes or lightweight boots. Pack neutral bush colors like khaki, green, or brown.

    Crucial tip: Do not wear bright blue or black clothes, as they strongly attract tsetse flies.

  • For safety reasons, the park has a strict minimum age limit of 12 years old for anyone participating in on-foot walking safaris. For families traveling with younger children, we can easily arrange private 4x4 game drives instead.

  • There is absolutely no pressure. We stay in constant radio contact with our backup teams. If you ever feel unwell or too exhausted to continue, a standby 4x4 vehicle will be sent to pick you up safely and comfortably.
